The Animal Behavior and Cognition Programme invites applications from eligible candidates for the following posts in a project (supported by DST-SERB) on the topic “Human-Primate Conflict” under Prof. Sindhu Radhakrishna, School of Natural Sciences & Engineering, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Indian Institute of Science Campus, Bangalore - 560012. 

1. Junior Research Fellow 

Qualifications & Experience Required: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET/equivalent qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET/GATE equivalent qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course. Other exceptional candidates and JEST/GATE, etc., qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply. 

Desirable: Familiarity with behavioral observation, ethnographic data collection methods and ecological field techniques. 

Number of positions: 01 

Emoluments: As per DST rules. Tenure of the post: Initially for a period of one year which may be extended for a further period subject to the candidate's satisfactory performance. The candidate selected for the post would have the possibility of later registering for a PhD degree depending upon satisfactory progress of work and fulfilment of the requirements for PhD registration. Such students will work in NIAS and will be registered for the PhD degree either with the University of Mysore or Manipal University. 

2. Research Assistant 

Qualifications & Experience Required: B.Sc or M.Sc degree in Zoology/Biology/Environmental Science or a related subject. 

Number of positions: 01 

Emoluments: As per DST rules. 

Tenure of the post: Initially for a period of one year which may be extended for a further period subject to the candidate's satisfactory performance.
