Vacancy for Junior Research Fellow (On temporary basis) in Acharya Narendra Dev College (University of Delhi)
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST) sponsored project entitled “Recombinant endolysins from mycobacteriophages: exploring their anti-Mycobacterial potential”
Project Description: To find a solution to the alarming rise in drug-resistant tuberculosis, the project aims to investigate endolysins from mycobacteriophages, which are amongst the most promising phage-derived enzymes and are considered as an alternative and viable options under the ‘non-antibiotic’ approach.
Eligibility: M.Sc. Microbiology/Biomedical Science/Life Science/Biotechnology or related fields/ M.tech in Biotechnology or equivalent degree with at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. SC/ST candidates are required to have 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. All applicants should be NET/GATE qualified.
Desirable experience: Candidates having prior experience in Protein purification, Enzyme assay and kinetics, Genome analysis and in handling Bacteriophages & Mycobacterium will be given preference.
No. of position: One
Duration of fellowship: Initially for one year, and extendable to two more years based on performance and mutual interest. Fellowship is co-terminus with project.
Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/-plus HRA per month
