Funding Agency
Department of Biotechnology, Government of India
Duration of Project
2018 – 2021

Essential qualification
First class in M. Sc. or M. Tech. (Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Physics, or related fields)
Project Description
Engineering the specificity in protein-DNA interactions has immense therapeutic potential. However, a rational guideline to engineering specificity has been elusive till-date primarily because of the lack of fundamental understanding of the interplay between various factors contributing to protein-DNA interactions. This project aims at understanding the interplay of water and protein dynamics towards specificity in protein-DNA interactions. The project will employ computational methods (molecular dynamics simulations) to address the research question.
