Appointment of Scientist – F in the Institute of Advanced Virology (IAV)

Institute of Advanced Virology (IAV) is established by the Government of Kerala at the Life Sciences Park, Thonnalkkal, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. The institute is envisioned to become an institute of global standards addressing all issues related to virus management, and shall have all infrastructure and human resources required to carry out high end research needed to study the virus and viral infections in a multifarious approach. The Institute will strengthen epidemic preparedness, rapid response and risk communication to the public, apart from the cutting-edge research in the area of basic as well as translational virology.
IAV is in the lookout for the right candidates on regular appointment/deputation to manage the scientific programmes as well as to steer the institute during its initial establishment

Essential qualifications
• A First Class Post-Graduate Degree in Life Sciences/Medicine/Veterinary Science/Virology/Clinical Virology/Clinical Diagnostics
• PhD with specialization in areas related to Virology / Immunology/ Microbiology
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in research after Ph. D.
• Proven track record in terms of quality research publications in virology related areas/Patents Desirable qualifications
• Ability to demonstrate success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity and accountability, while collaborating with others using independent thought.
• Exemplary organizational skills with a proven track record of working effectively both independently and as a team player.
• Experience with biocontainment facilities and procedures, laboratory safety, biosecurity, and decontamination processes
