Job description and desired knowledge: My laboratory employs a multidisciplinary
approach to address questions in the area of microbial interface biology and associated host
immune response to the human bacterial pathogen Streptococcus pneumoniae.
We are
interested in host-pathogen interaction, infection and immunity, and vaccine development.
We
are particularly interested in the molecular biology of B cells and developing a molecular understanding of how glycoconjugate vaccines work.
We combine immunological, molecular
and proteomic approaches with in vitro and animal model experiments for these studies.
The ideal candidate should have strong background and bench-level experience in
immunology, infectious diseases or molecular biology, and should be able to work with
experimental animal models.
