NIPGR Plant Molecular Biology/Genomics Project Openings 2020

Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary positions in the following projects/schemes under the supervision of Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Scientist, NIPGR.

1.Junior Research Fellow - (1 Post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.
SERB project entitled “Genome-wide identification and characterization of fusion events in different plant species”.
Eligibility: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and having M.Sc. degree/M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biochemistry or equivalent are eligible to appear for interview. Candidates having prior research experience in plant molecular biology or Bioinformatics will be given preference.
2.Junior Research Fellow – (1 Post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.
SERB project entitled “Genome-wide identification and characterization of transfer RNA derived fragments (tRFs) in chickpea”.
Eligibility: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and having M.Sc. degree/M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biochemistry or equivalent are eligible to appear for interview. Candidates having prior research experience in plant molecular biology or Bioinformatics will be given preference.
3.One Project Associate -I (01 post): Emoluments as per DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated August 21, 2019.
"Short-Term Research Fellowship" programme of NIPGR.
Eligibility: Candidate having a M.Sc./M.Tech. degree (with minimum of 60% marks overall) or equivalent in Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/Life Sciences or any other related field are eligible for interview. Candidates having prior experience in the area of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis, database and web-servers, Machine learning and big data analysis will be preferred.
4.One Project Associate -II (One post): Emoluments as per DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated August 21, 2019
"Short-Term Research Fellowship" programme of NIPGR.
Eligibility: Candidate having a M.Sc./M.Tech. degree (with minimum of 60% marks overall) or equivalent in Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/Life Sciences or any other related field with two years post M.Sc./M.Tech. experience are eligible for interview. Candidates having prior experience in the area of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis, database and web-servers, Machine learning and big data analysis will be preferred.

The fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT or as sanctioned in the project. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving on month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on January 28, 2020 (Tuesday) at 09:30 a.m. along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 09:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on January 28, 2020. Any candidate reporting after 10:30 a.m will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data and original degree/experience certificates. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).

Note: Application format can be downloaded from the website of the Institute (www.nipgr.ac.in). No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
