Institute invites applications for the positions of Assistant Professor (Grade-I) from Indian
Nationals (Reserved Category) possessing relevant work experience and an excellent
academic record including high-quality publications in reputed journals, in areas of Biology /
Chemistry / Data Science / Earth and Climate Science / Humanities and Social Sciences /
Mathematics / Physics.
Post Assistant Professor (Grade-I)
Scale of Pay Academic Pay Level-12 (Entry pay Rs. 1,01,500/-).
Gross monthly
emoluments at the base of the scale – Rs. 1,51,500/- approximately.
Qualification &
Experience
Ph.D. in Biology / Chemistry / Data Science / Earth and Climate Science
/ Humanities and Social Sciences / Mathematics / Physics or equivalent
with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and at least 3 years
industrial / research / teaching experience, excluding the experience
gained while pursuing Ph.D.
Reservation Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Other Backward Class
(OBC) / Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
GENERAL INFORMATION / DETAILS ABOUT POST
1) Post is as per the 7th CPC scale and carry allowances like Dearness, House Rent,
Transport and Children’s Education as admissible to Central Government employees
posted in Pune.
2) Faculty is eligible for medical facility as per the Institute norms & LTC facility as per
the Government of India Norms
3) Posts are covered under New Pension Scheme of Govt. of India.
4) The qualifications prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities
/ Institution.
5) Applications from the candidates working in Government Departments / Government
Funded Institutes / Government Funded Research Agencies / Universities should be
sent through proper channel and with a clear certificate that the applicant will be relieved within one month of receipt of appointment order, if selected. However, an
online application to be submitted before the last date as an advance copy.
6) The prescribed essential qualifications and experience indicated are bare minimum
and mere possession of same will not entitle candidates to be called for the selection
process. Where number of applications received in response to an advertisement is
large, it may not be convenient or possible for the Institute to call all eligible
candidates for selection process. The Institute may restrict the number of candidates
to be called for selection process to a reasonable limit, on the basis of publication
record and experience higher than that of the minimum prescribed in the
advertisement. The candidates should, therefore, furnish full details of qualifications
and experience possessed in the relevant fields, over and above the minimum
prescribed. Documentary evidences will be verified during the selection process.
7) Relaxation in experience may be considered in case of exceptionally meritorious
candidates, with prior approval of the Competent Authority.
8) No interim enquiries / correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained
on the matter.
9) Candidates seeking reservation benefits available for the respective categories must
ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed in GoI
orders and possess the valid certificates in the format prescribed by GoI in support of
their claim.
10) Candidates called for the selection process will have to produce Caste certificate and
or / Caste Validity Certificate (as applicable).
11) In case of OBC candidates, their caste should be in the central list of OBCs and the
reservation is admissible only to candidates having valid “Non Creamy Layer”
certificate.
12) Waitlist kept for the respective position shall be kept valid for a period of one year from
the date of selection. In case candidates do not join or leave after joining the post,
waitlisted candidates may be offered the position.
13) Canvassing in any form and / or bringing any influence, political, or otherwise, will be
treated as a disqualification for the post applied for.
14) Application incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected.
