Applications are invited for the position of Project assistant on contract basis (temporary) to
work in a time bound SERB-DST sponsored research project (SERB-SRG/2020) sanctioned
to the undersigned at the Department of Microbiology, Central University of Tamil Nadu,
Thiruvarur.
Essential Qualifications: B.Sc. orIntegrated BSc. in Biological Sciences/Life
Sciences/Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Botany or
equivalent with 55% marks with consistently good academic records.
Desirable qualifications: Candidate with M.Sc degree in above mentioned subject
with experience on algal biology, metabolite analysis and molecular biology.
Age limit:As per the norms of DST-SERB, Government of India.
Project Duration: Initial appointment will be for 1 year,and will be extended further based
on the performance.
Emoluments: Rs.20,000/-pm (Consolidated)

General terms and conditions: The position is temporary and renewable each year subject
to satisfactory performance for a maximum of two (02) years or termination of the project
whichever is earlier. The selection will be based on the performance in the interview,
academic credentials, and the need of the project. Mere possession of essential qualifications
does not guarantee call for the interview or selection. Only shortlisted candidates will be
communicated to appear in the interview and no other communications in this regard will be
entertained. The authority reserves the right of accepting/rejecting any or all applications
without assigning any reason thereof. Only selected candidate will be communicated to join
as Project Assistant and no other communication in this regard will be entertained.
