Applications are invited for recruitment of a contractual position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India (GoI), sponsored project entitled “Development of layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoclays for topical delivery of RNAi for sustained protection of economically important plants against pest attack” at Life Sciences Division, Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati. The details of the position such as educational qualification, monthly remuneration and the other conditions are as follows: 

M.Sc. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/ Botany/Agriculture with 55% marks 

Upper age limitmaximum 28 years at the time of application. 

Relaxation as per GoI rules. i.₹31,000.00+HRA permonth, for the candidates, whohave qualified CSIRUGCNET/GATE or equivalent. ii.For others, who do notfall under (i) is as per DSTguidelines. 

Desirable: Candidates should have interest in performing interdisciplinary research. Candidates having hands on experience in plant molecular biology related works will be preferred. 

Duration: Appointment will be initially for a period of 01 (one year), which may be extended till completion of the project depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and status of the project or until further order, whichever is earlier.

Date of interview: Shall be notified through e-mail to the short-listed candidates. N.B. (1) No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. (2) Those in employment or doing Ph.D. should submit a 'No Objection Certificate' from the concerned employer/ Ph.D.supervisor. (3) Appointment and payment will be strictly as per DBT rules and guidelines.
