Preamble "Electronics & ICT Academy" was set up at NIT Warangal with financial assistance from MeitY, GoI. The jurisdiction of this academy is Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This academy role is to offer faculty development programs in standardized courses and emerging areas of Electronics, Information Communication Technologies, training & consultancy services for Industry, Curriculum development for Industry, CEP for working professionals, Advice and support for technical incubation and entrepreneurial activities.

This faculty development program (FDP) is devoted to address the need of technological developments in Biotechnology and its allied fields. Bioinformatics is the application of tools of computation and analysis to capture and interpret various forms biological data and it’s an essential for management of data in modern biology and medicine. This workshop empowers the participants to understand sources of data generation (sequences), forms of data and aims to discuss the sequence, structure and functions with new technologies. This workshop is intended to provide an insight on Bioinformatics applications in various fields with hands-on Experience.

About NIT Warangal National Institute of Technology, Warangal is the first among 17 RECs setup as joint venture of the Government of India and the state government. Over the years the college has established itself as a premier Institute imparting technical education of a very high standard leading to the B.Tech degrees in various branches of engineering, M.Tech and Ph.D programs in various specializations. All B. Tech and M. Tech programmes of NIT Warangal are NBA accredited.

About the course Bioinformatics is rapidly emerging to play a key role in research; Lifesciences, biomedical, drug discovery in recent years. This workshop is designed to cover the concepts of advanced methods in bioinformatics applicable to Researchers, Faculty and Students. It is intended to stimulate interest in the minds of researchers and to help them enhance the quality of their research processes.

Faculty conducting this program: The program will be conducted in online mode by the faculty members from NIT Warangal and academicians in the concerned field from IITs/NITs/IIITs are invited to deliver lectures in the program. Speakers from industries are also expected to deliver as part of the course.
