POSITIONS OPEN FOR TEMPORARY RESEARCH PROJECT POSTS (Date of interview – JULY 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM via video call) 

CSIR-Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB), desires to engage qualified incumbents on purely temporary basis in various ongoing projects of the Institute as listed below: - 

1 CLP0036 Dr. Rajesh Pandey 

COVID-19: Enhance Genomic Surveillance & Genetic Epidemiology of SARS CoV2 in India. 

Project Manager 

Background in biological Sciences with responsibilities towards project administration, facilitating purchase, coordination of meetings and assisting with dissemination activities. Experience towards the above requirements would be important. 

Project Scientist 

Experience of working independently with NGS experiments and analysis, high-throughput genotyping, clinical genomics and ability to lead team of colleagues. 

Senior Project Associate 

1. Hand-on experience of handling COVID samples, RNA/DNA isolation from the VTM, experience of working in BSL2 and making NGS libraries. 

2. Experience in Pathogens genome analysis across different sequencing platforms; and prior handling of RNA-Seq and Single Cell Genomics for understanding host response. 

Lab Technician 

B.Sc. with MLT degree and experience in handling samples, extracting RNA, sample management, sample storage OR Class 12th with minimum 1- year Experience in handling COVID samples, COVID sample collection from hospitals, sample storage, making purchase indents and assisting lab management. 

All the positions will be filled as per the CSIR OM dated March 09, 2021. Specific designation, essential qualification and emoluments would be as under: 

1. Project Manager PhD in Biological Sciences or M.Sc. in Biological Sciences with minimum five years experience in project management. 50 INR 60,000-100,000 

2. Project Scientist PhD in Biological Sciences with minimum three years experience. 45 INR 65,000-75,000 

3. Senior Project Associate M.Sc./M.Tech. or equivalent qualification with minimum two years experience. 35 INR 50,000 

4. Lab Technician B.Sc. Plus MLT degree or class 12th with minimum one year experience in handling COVID samples. 30 INR 30,000-35,000 

The applicants will be subjected to short listing by our scientists according to the current requirement and the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed. After the interview, successful candidates will be put in a panel (names listed alphabetically) with a validity period of one year. Upon availability of funds, scientists will take students with appropriate experience and qualifications for their project work. Project position and remuneration as per the above OM. The duration of the post also depends on the fund available in a particular project and its validity. Reservation and age relaxation as per CSIR/Govt. of India guidelines. Tenure may be extendable up to project duration. The engagement which is on contract basis in respect of all above positions will confer no rights on the candidates, whatsoever, implicitly and/ or explicitly for their continuation beyond tenure/ absorption/ regularization in CSIR-IGIB. Contract may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. 3 Candidates should note that non-fulfillment of the eligibility criterion will result in cancellation of candidature at any stage. Those candidates who are still pursuing M.Sc./B.Tech./PhD or any qualification for the above post(s) on the last date of application will not be considered and age will be calculated on the last date of receiving applications.
