Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata is inviting applications for the recruitment of one (01) Senior Research
Fellow (SRF) on purely temporary basis to work in the project titled “To identify the role of genetic and epigenetic
alterations in epidermal keratinocytes in the pathogenesis of Psoriasis (CRG/2020/003837)” funded by the Science and
Engineering Research Board, Government of India and undertaken at the Human Genetics Unit of the Institute, Kolkata.
Qualifications : Postgraduate degree in Life Science/ Biology or associated field with
CSIR-UGC-NET/ GATE and at least 2 years of post Masters’ degree
research experience in Genetics/ Genomics/ Molecular Biology as
evidenced from published papers in standard refereed journals.
Pay : `35000/- (Rupees thirty five thousand only) plus HRA as per rules of the
Institute per month.
Tenure of appointment : The duration of the appointment is initially till 31 March 2022 from the
date of his/her joining the institute which may be extended later/terminated
earlier based on performance of the candidate and availability of the
required fund.
Age : Should not exceed 35 years as on 01 June 2021 with usual relaxation for
SC/ ST/ OBC/ differently abled candidates. Age relaxation may be given
to outstanding candidates or candidates with relevant experience.

Institute. The covering letter must include project name along with the current resume (signed) of the candidate in
English, which is required to include (a) Name (In block letters), (b) Passport size photograph, (c) Permanent/ Present
Address, (d) E-mail Address, (e) Telephone/Mobile No., (f) Parent’s/Spouse’s Name, (g) Date of birth, (h) Academic
Qualifications (with percentage of marks obtained in each examination starting from 10th class), (i) Experience (if any),
(j) Aadhar Card No., (k) SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled status with self attested scanned copies of all
documents/testimonials. At the time of joining, selected candidates have to produce all relevant documents/testimonials
in original for verification and a medical certificate of fitness from the Medical Officer of the Institute. Failing this, the
institute will offer the position to the next candidate in the merit list prepared for this purpose. CVs with incomplete
information or without supporting documents will be summarily rejected. The eligible short listed candidates will be
called for an online interview, the details of which will be communicated to their e-mail id. The Institute reserves the
right not to appoint any of the above.
