Recruitment of Temporary Positions for the R&D projects at CSIR-NIO Regional Centre Mumbai 

CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography, a constituent national laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of the following project staff, purely on a temporary contractual basis to carry out research work on the R&D project and to be engaged in NIO Regional Centre Mumbai. 

01 Biodiversity and ecosystem functions in understanding coastal integrity through observation and simulations (BEFCI).

Tenure: 6 Months 

Project Associate-I 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc Botany / Marine Biology 

Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Good knowledge of computer application.The selected candidate will have to carry out sample collection in the coastal areas by boat/trawler/cruise participation. Sample processing and analysis for identification of phytoplankton. Data analysis and writing of reports. 

35 Years

Project Associate-I 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc Zoology / Marine Biology / Marine Sciences Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Experience in estuarine/marine benthos sampling and analyses. Familiarity with macrobenthic taxa.The selected candidate will have to carry out sample collection in the coastal areas by boat/trawler/cruise participation. Sample processing and analysis for identification of macrobenthos. Data analysis and writing research papers.

35 Years 

Rs.25000 /- Plus HRA as per rules

Project Associate-I 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc Marine Biology 

Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Knowledge in taxonomic identification of zooplankton.Participation in field work onboard boats, plankton sampling, analyses and data preparation. 

35 Years

Project Associate-I 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Biotechnology/ Marine Biotechnology 

Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement 

Working experience in any R&D Institututes/organisation s.The selected candidates will be required to carry out work on microbiological and metagenomic sample collection in estuarine/coastal area, analysis, processing of data and preparation of reports related to projects.

Project Associate-I 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc Marine Sciences / Oceanography / Marine Biology Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Candidate should have adequate basic knowledge on (i) estuarine biogeochemistry process, (ii) Practical experience in samples collection and analysis for nutrients and metals in estuarine samples including biota.The selected candidate will have to carry out (i) sample collection in the coastal areas by boat/trawler/cruise participation, (ii) Sample processing and data analysis using complex statistical software and writing research papers. 01 35 Years Rs.25000 /- Plus HRA as per rules
