DBT BUILDER Program at The M.S. University of Baroda

Recently, “DBT BUILDER” (DBT-Boost to University Interdisciplinary Life Science Departments for Education and Research (BUILDER) program had been granted to Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology. This program is generously funded for advanced research and education, where exciting scientific questions are addressed using state-of-the-art molecular and cell biological approaches. 

The support from DBT will be used to create the interactions of existing departments of universities invigorating interdisciplinary modern bioscience research through the creation of new research facilities to enhance the capability of the researcher. Under this program following areas had been decided to pursue under multiple Principal Investigator Program:

Metabolic and stem cell therapy

Dr. Ratika Srivastava, Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology

Metabolic and Neurological Disorders
Prof. Rajesh Singh, Department of Biochemistry
Dr. Ravi Vijayvargia, Department of Biochemistry
Dr. Mayur Sahani, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology
Dr. Prakash Pillai, Department of Zoology

Plant therapeutics and Bioinformatics
Prof. Sarita Gupta, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology
Prof. Devarshi Gajjar, Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology Centre
Dr. Laxmipriya, Department of Biochemistry
Dr. Padamnabhi Nagar, Department of Botany

Under this program applications are invited from qualified JRFs (DBT,ICMR, UGC, CSIR), DST Young Scientist and DST Inspire Faculty:

Essential Qualification for JRF (DBT, ICMR, UGC or CSIR fellowship holders only): M.Sc. degree in Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology or related subject with minimum 55% marks or an equivalent grade.

Desirable Qualification: Research experience in Animal cell culture, Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, Animal handling, Western Blotting, Recombinant DNA techniques and Cancer Biology are highly desirable.

*Only NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF having active fellowships will be only considered.
