Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up purely temporary positions in the DBT
Multi-institutional project entitled “Characterization of chickpea germplasm resource to
accelerate genomics-assisted crop improvement”, under mission programme of
“Characterization of genetic resources” under the supervision of Dr. Swarup Kumar Parida,
Scientist, NIPGR.
Research Associate-III (One post):
Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in
the project.
Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology
or related field are eligible to apply.
Candidates having M.Tech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics with
three years research experience and with at least two first author research publications can also apply
as mentioned in DST office memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019.
Candidates having research experience in the area of molecular biology, bioinformatics, functional
genomics, genomics-assisted breeding duly supported with relevant publications will be preferred.
Senior Research Fellow/ Project Associate II (One Post):
Emoluments as per DST/DBT
norms & as sanctioned in the project.
Qualification for Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Candidates selected through National Eligibility
Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30,
2019 and having Master’s degree in Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology with at
least 60 % (or equivalent) marks and with at least two years of post-Master’s research experience in
Molecular Biology Laboratory are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in molecular
breeding, plant genomics, molecular biology, and or field phenotyping will be preferred.
Qualification for Project Associate-II (PA-II): Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria
mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020 with
Master’s degree in Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology with at least 60 % (or
equivalent) marks with at least two years of post-Master’s research experience in Molecular Biology
Laboratory are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in molecular breeding, plant
genomics, molecular biology, and or field phenotyping will be preferred.
The upper age limit for
the post of PA-II is 35 years.
Junior Research Fellow/ Project Associate I (One Post):
Emoluments as per DST/DBT
norms & as sanctioned in the project.
Qualification for Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Candidates selected through National Eligibility
Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30,
2019 and having M.Sc./M.tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life
Sciences/Agriculture/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or equivalent are eligible to apply. Candidate
with prior work experience in molecular breeding, plant genomics, molecular biology, and or field
phenotyping will be preferred.
Qualification for Project Associate-I (PA-I): Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned
in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020 with Master’s degree
in Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology with at least 60 % (or equivalent) marks
are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in molecular breeding, plant genomics,
molecular biology, and or field phenotyping will be preferred. The upper age limit for the post of
PA-II is 35 years.
Skilled labour (One Post):
Emoluments based on daily wages rates of Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
Qualification: A minimum of 4 years’ experience of working in research field, research greenhouse
and laboratory are required.
Preference will be given for the candidates worked with growing chickpea
for research experiments and experience in assisting researchers for plant sample collection/handling
in the field and greenhouse.
The candidate having working experience in field related work and
phenotyping is desirable.
The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The
fellowship amount for the above positions are as sanctioned in the project and as per DST/DBT
norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is
earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's
performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the
candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate.
Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any
time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit
for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
