Divecha Centre for Climate Change 

The Divecha Centre for Climate Change was established at Indian Institute of Science in January 2009. The primary goal of this centre is to understand climate variability and climate change and its impact on the environment. The centre has been involved in identifying technologies to mitigate climate change in collaboration with entrepreneurs and different engineering departments at the institute. The centre is also working with Grantham Institutes at the Imperial College, London and London School of Economics, on the impact of Climate Change on water, energy and food. 

Applications are invited for the following posts on a contract basis. Job duration is initially for one year and extendable for two or more years upon satisfactory performance. 

1. Senior Project Associate 

 Number of positions: 02 posts. 

 Emoluments: Rs 42,000 + HRA. 

 Minimum qualification: 

 (a) Doctoral Degree in Sciences from a recognized University. Desirable qualification: Specialized in any one of the following: Inorganic/Organic/Bio/ Environmental/Isotope chemistry or 
 (b) Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences. 

 Desirable qualification: Specialized in Environmental geochemistry with special reference to water, soil/rock and agricultural products and four years experience in above field.

 2. Project Associate – II 

 Number of positions: 02. 

 Emoluments: Rs 28,000 + HRA. 

Minimum qualification: Master’s Degree in Science/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Medicine (Public Health) from a recognized University. 

 Desirable qualification (1) Knowledge of Organic Chemistry with familiarity in analyzing water, plant materials by gas chromatography. (2) Hydrology with surveying techniques and construction of water harvesting structures or basic knowledge about water treatment with two years experience in this field. 

3. Project Associate – I 

Number of positions: 01. 

Emoluments: Rs 25,000 + HRA. 

Minimum qualification: Master’s Degree from a recognized University. 

Desirable qualification: Master’s Degree in Earth Sciences/Paramedical Sciences/Social Sciences and Public health surveying.
