ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the position of Consultant - Scientific Officer To work in the Vegetable Diversity & Improvement Flagship, through the Heat Stress Tolerance of Tomato and Chilli Project. This is a consultant position open for Indian nationals only. The consultant will be based in Hyderabad and will work closely with the WorldVeg headquarters team.

Responsibilities:
- Design and supervise field trials, collect data, conduct analyses and maintain records of all activities undertaken under the Heat Stress Tolerance project.
- Assist in developing research papers, technical reports, presentations and annual reports in coordination with project team members.
- Assist in monitoring of project trials and strategic trials at locations around India.
- Ensure the execution of breeding experiments as per the agreed plans and schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and experience:
- M.Sc. (Genetics and Plant Breeding, Vegetable science) and at least 1 year working experience in projects related to vegetables
- Good working knowledge on vegetable breeding, field experimental design, quantitative genetics
- Good computational and skills in handling variety evaluation trials
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi and Telugu.
- Curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and stay current on new emerging science and technology
- Experience on Tomato and chilli crop improvement research will be preferred
