Inviting applications for Project Positions DATE: March 14, 2022 


Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up purely temporary positions of one Junior Research fellow, one Student Trainee and one Project Associate-I in the following project/schemes of Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Scientist, NIPGR. The details of the positions are as under: 

(A) SERB-DSTproject “Genetic dissection of 13-lipoxygenases to modulate JA biosynthesis for enhanced N, P, K deficiency tolerance in rice”. 

Junior Research Fellow (One post): 

Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project. 

Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and having Master’s degree (with minimum 55% marks or equivalent) in Life Science/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Botany or any other branch of life science are eligible to apply. Candidate having research experience in the area of plant molecular biology and plant tissue culture will be given preference. 

Student Trainee (One Post): 

Emoluments ₹ 5000 pm consolidated (post only for two months) 

Qualification: Students currently pursuing the B.Tech /B.Eng / M.Sc. in Life Science/ Botany/Biotechnology/ Plant Molecular Biology are eligible for interview. 

The tenure of the above position is only two months and is not extendable. 

(B) NIPGR- Short term Research Fellowship (STRF) Project Associate I (One post): 

Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project. 

Qualification for Project Associate-I (PA-I): Candidate having Master’s degree (with minimum 55% marks or equivalent) in Life Science/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/Botany or any other branch of life science and as per the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020 are eligible to apply. 

Candidate having research experience in the area of Plant Molecular Biology will be given preference. 

The Upper age limit for Project Associate-I is 35 years. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. 

Eligible candidates may apply by sending soft copy through e-mail in the given format with a cover letter showing interest along with self- attested soft copies of the mark-sheets, certificates, (from Class X onwards) and proof of research experience/publications. 

A single pdf file, consisting of application from cover letter, and all documents, must be sent to E-mail: amarjeet.singh@nipgr.ac.in within 15 days fromthe date of advertisement. The subject line of the mail should be “Application for the Post of JRF/trainee/PA-I”. A web-link with date and time of online interview will be E-mailed to the shortlisted candidates only. 

The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s). Note:ONLY soft copy of the application in the given format will be accepted. No TA/DA will be paid for attending online interview.
