USIEF Delhi Program Coordinator Job Opening | ~ 10 Lakhs per Annum



USIEF seeks results-oriented candidates with professional experience and a desire to excel for the following position:

Program Coordinator, U.S. Program (Delhi)

Basic Functions of the position


Under the supervision of the Senior Program Officer, U.S. Program, the incumbent coordinates the U.S. program activities in administering the Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships for the U.S. citizens. S/he prepares materials for the review committee meetings and list of selected scholars; submits visa applications of the selected scholars to the Government of India; prepares grant documents; CVs of the grantees. Maintains official files and records of scholars, drafts letters and receives calls, mails from the scholars. S/he assists in organization of the orientation program for ETAs and student grantees and the mid-year conference for all American grantees in the country. S/he also assists in organization of the events around the U.S. Fulbrighters.

The position is full time (40 hours per week).

Major duties and responsibilities include:

The incumbent assists the Senior Program Officer and Program Managers in all aspects of the Fulbright fellowships for the U.S. citizens.

  • Collates and assists in formulation and preparation of yearly solicitations, drafts of the official correspondence to the Government of India, scholars and affiliated institutions in India and ensures that the correspondence is in correct format. Prepares the formal grant documents and mails it to the selected grantees. Prepares CVs of the selected grantees for the grantee booklet.
  • Assists the Senior Program Officer in coordinating with the administration, fiscal and regional offices for arranging travel, initial stay and stipend for the visiting scholars. Also assists in the FRRO registration of grantees and provides settling in support for U.S. Grantees.
  • Receives queries from the scholars on grant by email/telephone and responds to them as and when required. Helps the Senior Program Officer to identify facilitators (people hired on short contracts to orient U.S. scholars in their city of residence) for the U.S. grantees at different places in the country.
  • Coordinates with administration on different logistical arrangements for the U.S. program events, including the Fulbright conference, the orientation for students and seminars abroad program.
  • Assists the Senior Program Officer in identification of the themes and institutions for programs around grantees.
  • Maintains a calendar for the American program activities and individual grantee files and other program related files and records. Assists in drafting the program reports for the USIEF’s annual report, Newsletter, board meetings, PA weekly. Maintains database of the grantees.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Senior Program Officer/ Managers.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.

Experience:MMinimum two years of relevant work experience. Work experience in the higher education sector and/or a multicultural environment is desirable.

Skills: High Level Oral and Written English Communication; Commitment to cross-cultural exchange; Experience working with students and scholars (desirable); Experience in organizing conferences or similar events; Self driven and proven ability to work in a team environment; Networking and liaising skills; Creativity and problem solving.
Fluency in MS Office – Outlook, word, excel, power-point and other presentation tools; database management; adept in Internet based tools.


Compensation: Annual salary 7.35 lakh plus benefits of approx. 3.46 lakh.
