Job Description:
- Ensure processing, due diligence, peer review, and award of grant/fellowship applications
- Provide advice, guidance, and support on grant applications and awards to potential and existing grant holders; execute post-award processes for a portfolio of awards
- Maintain organised and accurate grant records, provide timely input of accurate grant-related and financial data, support periodic audits
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance
- Build key relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to maximise the returns from the funding programme
- Participate in India Alliance's non-grants activities
- Proactively and continuously identify and manage risks to ensure continuity of operations
- Additional duties as delegated by the Line Manager
Desired profile of the candidate:
- Attitude – Positive, can do, solution oriented and a team player
- Qualifications: PhD in Life Science/Biological Sciences/similar areas.
- Good knowledge of the science, research and policy ecosystem in India, and the larger international context.
- Experience: 0-1 year of experience in grants related activities
- Attention to detail while managing large workloads within given deadlines
- Commitment to high standards
- Ability to maintain accurate and organised grant records and the timely input of accurate grant-related and financial data, according to defined standards.
- Ability to work in a team within established deadlines and according to defined standards and controls
- Adequate IT skills and ability to work on large records
