“Genomics and Molecular Technologies for
Industrial Applications"

Goal
To Train students in Genomics and Molecular Technologies
and industrial exposure.
Eligibility Criteria
• Essential
M.Sc. in (Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry,
Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences,
Biomedical Engineering, Food technology), from a recognized
university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
No Age
limit.
• Desirable
Experience in medical laboratory or equivalent degree or
diploma in medical laboratory techniques.
No. of seats- 12
Course Duration - 6 months
Fees- Rs.24,000/- per for regular and Rs.40,000/-
for industry sponsored candidates, Rs. 12000/- for
candidates in EWS, OBC, SC and ST categories to be
credited by the student directly to CSIR-IGIB

Molecular Diagnostics and Genomics | Cell biology | Basics of
Animal Handling | Microbial Applications | Special Skills |
(Microscopy, nanotechnology, Chromatography, Mass
spectrometry)
Exposure in industry and advanced research.

The teaching faculty will be largely drawn from a set of highly qualified and competent scientists from
CSIR-IGIB and a few experts will be called for specialized topics. Students will be taught about the basic
principles of the technologies with examples of applications. They will be given more time and emphasis
on practical hands on experiments and instrumentation in both dry and wet lab facilities.

Instruction methodsinvolve hands on practice. Medium of instruction will be in English
Evaluation & Certification
After successful completion of the program, trainees would be evaluated through written/oral exam.
Successful candidates would be issued a completion certificate.
