Requirement for Research Specialist – Stem cells
 
1. Applications are invited from interested candidates to work as a technical specialist (1 Position) under a project on induced pluripotent stem cells and their differentiation into various cell types.
 
Name of the post: Research Specialist – Stem cells 
 
Duration: Initially for 3 years and can be extended.
 
Qualifications: M.Sc. in Biological Sciences/Life Sciences/Bio medical Science
 
Experience: Candidates with minimum two years of prior laboratory experience in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques is mandatory. Previous experience with stem cell work, managing own research and administrative activities is a plus.
 
The role: The post holder will be primarily responsible to perform cellular reprogramming and iPSC generation, iPSC differentiation, in vivo animal studies, clinical sample processing and their bio-banking and participate in all the laboratory activities. Undertake other laboratory duties as responsibilities of this post. The post offers the opportunity to become proficient in the culture of fibroblasts, blood cell isolation and culture, vector production, cellular reprogramming and iPSC generation.

·Experience of working in a research team and contributing ideas for new research projects.

Salary: Salary will be INR 38000 consolidated per month for first 6 months. Upon confirmation based on satisfactory performance, further increments will be offered.

Requirement for Research Specialist – Gene Therapy
 
2. Applications are invited from interested candidates for immediate requirementto work as technical specialists (3 Positions) under projects to develop gene therapy vectors for inherited disorders.
 
Name of the post: Research Specialist – Gene Therapy 
 
Duration: Initially for 3 years and can be extended. A minimum commitment of 3 years is necessary for these positions.
 
Qualifications: M.Sc./M.Tech in any branch of biology or biotechnology. Bachelors degree holders with more than 5 years of relevant laboratory experience may also be considered.
 
Experience required: Candidates with prior laboratory experience in one or more of the following techniquesis mandatory:

·        Mammalian cell culture, transfection, aseptic techniques
·        Plasmid production, bacterial culture, quality control
·        Molecular biologytechniques including cloning, PCR, QPCR, etc.
·        Biochemistry techniques including protein isolation, immunoblotting, tissue staining techniques and microscopy.
·        Chromatography techniques including IEX, affinity, experience with AKTA.
·        Previous experience with viral vectors, cloning mammalian genes, bioreactor culture, animal handling and animal tissue experiments is preferred.
·        Experience with animal studies including mice or rabbits.
 
The role: The post holders will be primarily responsible to perform different vector production related techniques including cell culture, vector transduction in vitro and in vivo (animal models), plasmid production, quality control, genotyping, clinical sample processing and their bio-banking and participate in all the laboratory activities. The post may require some travelling when required for experiments to be performed at core facilities.

Requirement for Research Fellow – Ocular Immunology

Qualifications: M.Sc. in Biological Sciences/Life Sciences/Bio medical Science with 2 years of prior research laboratory experience.
 
Experience:Candidates with strong interest and basic knowledge in immunology is preferred. Prior laboratory experience protein extraction, following aseptic procedures, flow cytometry analysis, ELISA and microscopy are MANDATORY. Previous experience with biomarker discovery, statistical data analysis (SPSS or MedCalc) with organizational skills is preferable.
 
The role: The post holder will be primarily responsible to perform immunological assays including multiplexed biomarker analysis, functional assays, clinical sample processing and their bio-banking, Flow Cytometry, custom ELISA, cell culture, molecular signaling experiments, data analysis including statistics and participate in all the laboratory activities. Candidate will need to undertake common laboratory duties as responsibilities of this post.

Requirement for Research Specialist – Mass Spectrometry and Bioinformatics

Experience:Candidates with strong interest and first hand working knowledge in mass spectrometry is preferred. Prior laboratory experience in handling protein samples, separation techniques such as PAGE, chromatography, basic scriptwriting (Python, R), statistical data analysis (SPSS, PRIZM or MedCalc) etc are MANDATORY. Previous experience with data analysis from proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics or metabolomics, pathway analysis, network analysis, with organizational skills is preferable.
 
The role: The post holder will be primarily responsible to perform whole proteomic/metabolomic assays and analyse data from such experiments alongside sequencing datasets. biomarker analysis, clinical sample processing and their bio-banking, flow cytometry, custom ELISA, data analysis including statistics and participate in all the laboratory activities. Candidate will need to undertake common laboratory duties as responsibilities of this post. Appropriate training for sample handling, usage of personal protective equipment and performing experiments in biosafety lab will be provided to the candidate to fulfil the said role.

Requirement for Post Doctoral Fellow/Senior research specialist – Gene Therapy
 
3.     Applications are invited from interested candidates (2 Positions) for immediate requirement to work as Post Doctoral Fellow (applicants with PhD) or senior research specialist (applicants with M.Sc/M.Tech with 3+ years of relevant experience) under projects to develop gene therapy vectors.
 
Duration: Initially for 3 years and can be extended. A minimum commitment of 3 years is necessary for these positions.
 
Qualifications: PhD in any branch of biology or biotechnology, but with experience working on mammalian systems, human disease biology, therapies, etc.

For Senior Research Specialist, minimum of 3 years’ experience in production and purification of viral vectors is MANDATORY (experience in industry or academia are welcome).
 
Experience required: Candidates with experience in three or more of the following techniques is mandatory:

·        Mammalian cell culture, transfection, aseptic techniques
·        Plasmid production, bacterial culture, quality control
·        Molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, QPCR, etc.
