KGMU Lucknow Molecular and Cell Biology Project Openings

Applications are invited from eligible candidates who have high motivation to pursue Biomedical Research, for the following research / PhD positions under PI Prof. Shailendra Kr Saxena, Centre for Advanced Research, King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. 

Project Title: Elucidation of novel prognostic markers and their role in progression of diabetes mellitus-associated neurocognitive disorder (DMAND) 

1. Principal Project Associate (One posts) 

Essential: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (M.Sc./M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences/Zoology or equivalent) with two years of relevant research experience; 
OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following with four years of relevant research experience: 
a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET/Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) / GATE / GPAT. 
b) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc. 

Desirables: Prior research experience of working in a cell and molecular biology lab with training in cell culture and basic cell biology techniques such as protein/RNA extraction, NGS, PCR, Western blotting, cytometry, proteomics, metabolomics, immunostaining and microscopy etc. is desirable, with publication. Advance knowledge of using computers for data analysis and record keeping is required. 

Rs. 49,000/- + HRA per month (as per rules) 


2. Project Associate II (One posts) 

Essential: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (M.Sc./M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences/Zoology or equivalent) with two years of relevant research experience; OR 
Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following with two years of relevant research experience:

Project Title: Development of primary human microglial/astrocyte cell-based model for neurodegenerative diseases 

3. Senior Research Fellow (SRF) (One posts) 

Essential: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (M.Sc./M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences/Zoology or equivalent) with two years of relevant research experience; OR 
Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following with two years of relevant research experience: 
a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET/Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) / GATE / GPAT.
