Applications are invited from dedicated and trained persons for the position of Consultant
(Level-II) or Consultant (Level-I) (One position only), purely on contract basis, for the
Central Mass Spectrometry Facility (NII-CMSF) using modern technology:
Facility Name: Nano-LC-MS/MS systems
1. Job Description: Maintenance and operation of nano liquid chromatography-high
resolution tandem mass spectrometry (Nano-LC-MS/MS) instrument systems, training
and assisting users in experimental design, data acquisition, processing and analyses, and
support for SAHAJ services.
Prior expertise in proteomics, metabolomics will be
preferred-which will include experience in instrument operation, software-based data
analysis using various proteomics/metabolomics software, sample preparation-is
desirable.
2. Qualifications & Experience:
Consultant (Level-I): 1st Class M.Sc.(Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemistry,
Physics, or equivalent)/M.Tech (Biotechnology, Instrumentation, Electronics, or
equivalent) with at least three years of relevant experience.
Consultant (Level-II): PhD must be in the field of Biochemistry, Chemistry,
Biotechnology, Life Science, or equivalent. Ph. D., work must involve extensive use and
application of mass spectrometry, proteomics, data analysis, and data presentation as a
major part of the thesis.
A copy of the Ph. D., synopsis along with a list of publications
must be submitted along with the application. Preference would be given to candidates
with a Ph.D. (Either completed or thesis-submitted).
Preference will be given to candidates possessing experience in handling liquid
chromatography-mass spectrometry systems and expertise in proteomics and
metabolomics.
3. Consultation Fee:
Consultant (Level-I): Upto Rs. 50,000/- depending upon educational qualification and
experience plus conveyance allowance, as per rules in force.
Consultant (Level-II): Between Rs. 50,000/- per month to Rs. 1,00,000/-per month plus
conveyance allowance depending upon educational qualification and experience as per
rules in force.
4. Period of Engagement: Initially for a period of one year which can be extended as per the
requirements of the Institute.

Caste/PH certificate, if applicable, a recent photograph and payment of Rs. 100/- may be
made through RTGS/NEFT to NII bank account No. 1484101001636 in favor of the
Director, National Institute of Immunology. Candidates are advised to share/send the
receipt of the payment proof alongwith the application. SC/ST/PH and Women candidates
are exempted from payment of fees, subject to furnishing of documentary proof.
