Workshop Theme:
The Workshop will focus on designing and deploying CRISPR/Cas tools, transforming those in plants and analyzing the ‘edited’ transformants. The basic and applied concepts will be discussed through lectures and hands-on training sessions. The areas to be covered are:
· Introduction to plant genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9
· Creating vectors and designing guide RNAs related to editing
· Targeting multiple genes for editing
· Discussing web-based tools for designing gRNAs and confirmation of editing
· Optimizing Cas9 for best efficiency
· Handling off-target issues
· Tissue-specific genome editing
Who can participate:
Applications are invited from Faculty, Scientists, Postdocs and Ph.D. Scholars from Universities, Research Institutes and Colleges. Please submit a 1-page resume with research interests by email to Dr. Sachin Teotia (sachin.teotia1@sharda.ac.in). 25 candidates will be selected after screening the applications, and the selected candidates will be intimated by email. There is no fee for the workshop. No TA and DA, and accommodation will be provided for attending the workshop.
