For the Post of JRF in a DST SERB-Funded Research Project

Applications are invited for a JRF Position in a DST-SERB sponsored project as per the following details.

Project title

Investigation of the genetic regulation of melatonin/lignin mediated salinity stress tolerance mechanisms in mangroves

Tenure of the project

The project is for three years.

Qualifications and age limit

Essential: First class M.Sc./M.Tech degree in any area of Life Sciences/Botany/Plant Science/Ecology

Desirable: Experience in molecular biology, developmental biology or computational genomics, knowledge of R programming.  Candidates with NET/GATE/SET may be given preference.

The age limit is as per the DST SERB norms.

Fellowship amount and HRA

As per the DST SERB norms (₹37000 per month + 8 percent HRA)

Tenure of the position

The vacancy is purely temporary. The candidate will be initially appointed for one year. However, the tenure of the candidate can be further extended up to two years or until the completion of the project based on his/her progress.

Date and venue of the interview

The interviews of the shortlisted candidates will be held on 22nd December 2023 in the Office of the Dean, School of Biological Sciences, Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod, Kerala.
