Advertisement for Project Associate position in research project funded by DST-SERB 

Applications are invited for one position of Project Associate in a research project funded by DST-SERB, Govt of India, at the Microbiology department, Medical Research Foundation, Chennai. The proposed project will present the candidate with a unique opportunity to explore ocular microbiome in various healthy and diseased populations. 

Title of the project: “Metagenomic analysis of ocular surface microbiome in health and disease” 

Principal Investigator: Dr. A.R. Anand , Senior Associate Professor, Microbiology Department, Medical Research Foundation, Chennai. 

Duration of the project: Three years 

Qualifications: 

a) Essential : M.Sc/M.Tech Life Sciences. 
b) Desirable: Candidates should have qualified NET (CSIR-UGC) or GATE or any other national eligibility examination. 
Previous research experience in molecular biology and microbiology will be an added advantage. Candidates should possess good communication and writing skills. 

Age Limit: Not more than 35 years as on 10.12.2023. Age relaxation as per DST-SERB guidelines. 

Fellowship: Rs. 31000/- + 24% HRA per month (Consolidated) for the candidate who possesses valid CSIR / UGC-JRF / NET / GATE / Qualified National Level Test conducted by Central Govt. Depts and their agencies along with minimum qualification Rs. 25,000/- + 24% HRA per month (Consolidated) for the candidate who possesses only minimum qualification
