Applications are invited for the position of one JRF in the Department of Biological Sciences at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa for a DBT sponsored research project titled “Investigating the significance of V2 and V3 variants of the gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) in the hypothalamic and non-hypothalamic neurons: new insights in neuronal physiology

Principal Investigator: Dr. Arnab Banerjee, BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus, Goa
Co-Principal Investigator: Dr. Indrani Talukdar, BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus, Goa

Broad area of Research: Neuroendocrinology/ Metabolic disorder

Duration of the project: Three years

Fellowship Amount (Rs.): For the first two years Rs. 31,000 + 16% HRA and for the third year Rs. 35,000 +16% HRA for those (i) who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship or GATE or qualified through National Examination of Government Departments and Agencies.

Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having CSIR/UGC NET LS/GATE and working experience relevant to the project topic.

Age limit: 28 years

Duration: Up to the termination of project, subject to annual performance review.

Accommodation: Hostel accommodation for the JRF will be provided subject to availability and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the Institute prevailing at the time of joining of the candidate.

Qualification: FOR JRF: M.Sc./ M.E. in one of the fields in Zoology/ animal biotechnology/ Neurobiology/ biochemistry/ biotechnology. In depth understanding of molecular biology, neuroendocrinology/ gene regulation, signal transduction and microbiology is a must. Candidates must be familiar with rodent handling and basic in vivo experiments.
