Brief about Project:
The project aims to investigate the link between leprosy, environmental presence of Mycobacterium leprae and risk practices concerned with Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and handling of livestock in the context of One Health by active involvement of the leprosy affected self-help groups from India. The project is funded by the Leprosy Research Initiative.

Job Description:
• Perform laboratory techniques such as RNA extraction, NGS, PCR and microscopy etc. of human and environmental samples including animal biopsy samples.
• Maintain clinical and laboratory data.
• Assist the project team in data analysis and periodic report preparation.
• Ability and inclination to travel to project sites.
• Data entry and analysis as required for the project
• Preparation of presentations/reports/manuscripts
• Assist the PI and RA in all the technical matters relevant to the project work.
• Any other work assigned by the PI/ Co-PI
Technical /Area of Expertise: Experience in research project work including specimen processing, lab procedures in microbiology, molecular biology (DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, RTPCR,) genome sequencing. Proven track record with publications.
Requirements:
Experience (In Yrs and Months): Phd Microbiology/ Life sciences or M.Sc (Microbiology)/Biotechnology with at least four years experience
Total: Four years Relevant: _2 years
Education qualification required: PhD/MSc Microbiology, biotechnology (relevant research publications are preferable)
Skills required:
• Primary Perform laboratory techniques such as RNA extraction, NGS, PCR and microscopy etc. of human and environmental samples including animal biopsy samples.
• Maintain clinical and laboratory data.
• Assist the project team in data analysis and periodic report preparation.

Remuneration: Rs.50,000 per month
