Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research
Associate-III (RA-III) in the SERB- Swarna Jayanti fellowship project entitled "Enhancing sheath blight
disease tolerance in rice", of Dr. Gopaljee Jha, Scientist, NIPGR.
Research Associate-III (one post):
Emoluments Rs. 54,000 + 24% HRA per month as sanctioned in
the project.
Essential Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular
Biology or a related field. Candidates having M.Tech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics with three years of
research experience with relevant research publications and fulfilling the norm/guidelines of DST issued
vide DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 are eligible to apply.
Desirable Qualification: Candidates having research experience in the area of plant-pathogen
interactions/functional genomics/development and characterization of transgenic/gene-edited rice, duly
supported with relevant publications in SCI journals (having at least two first-author research papers in SCI
journals with more than three impact factors) will be preferred.
Job Requirements: To carry out research in the area of plant-pathogen interactions using rice and
Rhizoctonia solani as pathosystems.

The above position is completely on a temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship
amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per DST/SERB norms. The initial
appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be
curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the
Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending
upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India
norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving a one-month notice by either side. The
applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.
