Applications are invited for ONE position of PhD Scholar on project, “To develop mini-guts in the culture dish
using state-of-art intestinal organoid technology and evaluate the functional role of designer bile acids towards
their therapeutic potential in IBD and CRC” under the supervision of Dr. Trinath Jamma, Dept. of Biological
Sciences (BITS Pilani, Hyderabad) and Prof. Rajeev Sakhuja, Dept. of Chemistry, BITS Pilani, Pilani, Rajasthan.

Scope of work
1. Establishing invitro organoid
system and study the gut
barrier integrity, functions in
various stress conditions
under the influence of gut
microbial metabolites (natural
& synthetic).
2. This
interdisciplinary project
involves synthesis and
purification of potential antiinflammatory and anti-cancer
agents and test their efficacy
in in vitro and in vivo.
Essential Qualification
1st Class in M.Sc. Life Sciences/M.Sc.
Biochemistry/M.Sc.
Biotechnology/M.Pharma/M.Tech.
Biotechnology.
Desirable Qualification
1. Hands-on experience in the
areas of cell biology, fluorescence
microscopy, mouse handling,
chemical synthesis, HPLC, LCMS, Analytical Techniques, InSilico Analysis is added
advantage.
2. Anyone interested in chemical
biology with above skillset are
also encouraged to apply.
3. CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF/DBTJRF/ICMR-JRF/NET holders are
highly encouraged to apply.
Fellowship: ₹37,000 - ₹42,000 per month (based on the year of PhD and performance)
