CSIR June 2024 PhD Admission Qualified with 33% | Will I get PhD Admission?

Catergory 3 list only eligible for PhD admissions ? or any one who crossed 33% or 25% cut off also eligible for PhD admissions?

Acccording CSIR 2024 June Results 



Remember:

1. CSIR Exam Conducted in three Categories


2. Only Category 1 [JRF] will get PhD fellowship for 5 years. This used for admissions in University and Research institutes.  Also eligible for faculty jobs.

3. Category 2 wont get PhD fellowship like JRF. This used for admissions in Universities. May be universities may provide nominal fellowship. Also eligible for faculty jobs.

4. Category 3 : Eligible for PhD Admissions and wont get PhD fellowship like JRF or not eligible for faculty jobs. May be universities may provide nominal fellowship. .

Catergory 3 List who are eligible for PhD admissions provided the CSIR. 

However 

For candidates qualified under the category-2 and category-3, the marks obtained in the NET will have 70% weightage and 30% weightage will be based on the performance in the interview/viva voce conducted by the University/HEI concerned during PhD ADMISSIONS. 

The Ph.D. admission will be based on the combined merit of NET marks and the marks obtained in the interview/viva voce.

But 

Category 2 Cutoff General [UR]  is 98%
Catergory 3 Cutoff General [UR] is Less than 98%  

Means CATEGORY 2 CANDIDATES MORE CHANCE for PhD Admissions because they get more weightage [70%].

Question : I got more than 33% in UR in category 3, will get PhD admission even my number is not the qualified category 3 list? 

Answer : No. We wrote to CSIRHRDG for clarification. We will update soon.

7. CSIR Result is mealeading about 33%

8. For admission to Ph.D., the marks obtained in the NET by the candidates in category-2 and category-3 will be valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result of Joint CSIR-UGC NET [From 14th October 2024]
