Recruitment for the post of “Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate-I” under
Andhra Pradesh Forest Department (APFD) - funded project
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati is a premier autonomous
Institution established by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, for promotion of high-quality
science education and research in the country.
The Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following position purely on a
contract basis:
Name of the post Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate-I
Name of the project Developing genomic methods for ecological studies of mammals
Description: The project aims to develop genomic methods to
study populations, biodiversity, evolution and behaviour,
particularly within mammals.
The candidate should have a
minimum of three years of experience in the field of wildlife
research, and must be well-versed with the following:
Molecular
laboratory skills and analytical skills.

Minimum Qualifications Essential:
Master’s degree in Zoological or Natural Science (preferably in
Wildlife Sciences) with minimum 60% marks or Equivalent grade.
Desirable:
Candidates having experience with sample extraction and PCRs
skills, post-PCR skills, designing of primers, analysis of data,
administration of projects, report writing.
Fellowship
I. Rs. 31,000/- + 8% HRA to Scholars who are selected through
National Eligibility Tests-CSIR/UGC-NET including
lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE or National level
examinations conducted by Central Government Departments
and their Agencies and Institutions.
II. Rs. 25,000/- + 8% HRA for others who do not fall under (I)
above.
Tenure The initial offer will be for six months and renewable subject to
satisfactory performance. The position is co-terminus with the
project.
Age Not more than 35 years on the closing date of the advertisement.
