Principal Project Associate (01 No) @ Rs 49000/Month + HRA Age - 40 years* Initially up-to one-year, further extension on performance. (Place of Posting- NIHE, HQs, Almora.) 

 Doctoral degree in Life Sciences/Natural Sciences with consistently good academic records and 

 Four years of research experience (R&D) in areas of forest/grassland ecology/ecosystem services/resource assessment 

 Experience of working in remote Mountainous areas/ with rural communities 

 Experience of data compilation/analysis and synthesis and proven record of scientific writing. 

 Good communication skills; and computer knowledge. 

 Conduct extensive field R&D activities; generate, analysis and synthesis of field data/ information; report preparation and timely submission to the PI DBT funded project entitled “Promotion of high value medicinal plants cultivation, post-harvest management and valueaddition in the Indian Himalayan Region”. 

HQ0202 Project Associate-II (01 No.) @ Rs 35,000- /month +HRA Age - 35 years* (Place of Posting- NIHE, HQs, Almora.) 

 First Class Master's degree in Botany/Chemistry/ /Biochemistry 

 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions 

 Experience in medicinal plants cultivation and conservation, post harvest management, value chain development, field study for medicinal plants diversity assessment, socio-economic survey and stakeholder consultation in higher Himalayas 

 Laboratory based experience in phytochemical analysis, in-vitro propagation protocols using biotechnological tools, and report writing and data analysis. 

 Assessment of biochemical and phytochemical of the selected MAP species. 

 Promotion of cluster based cultivation of selected medicinal plants 

 Establishment of value chain and market linkages. 

 Conduct site-specific intervention on medicinal plants cultivation, coordination with the line agencies and farmers. 

 Publication of research papers in peer reviewed Journals 

HQ0203 Project Assistant (04 Nos.) @ Rs 18,000/month +HRA Age - 50 years* (Place of posting – NIHE, HQs, Almora - 1, Sikkim RC- 1, Srinagar, Garhwal RC - 1 & Kullu, Himachal Pradesh RC-1) 

Essential: 

 Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. 

Desirable : Preference will be given to candidates having: 

 Experience in field-based work related to medicinal plants conservation and cultivation. 

 Skills in nursery development, plantation techniques, and post-harvest handling of medicinal plants. 

 Assistance in field surveys, lab work in the project 

 Monitoring and maintenance of ex-situ conservation site of the institute. 

 Any other scientific/technical jobs that may be assigned by PI/CoPI from time to time NMHS funded project entitle:"Creation of an Integrated Database of the Himalayan Biodiversity for Mainstreaming in Policy to meet National Commitments". 

HQ0204 Research Associate-III (01 No.) @ Rs 67000/Month + HRA Age - 40 years* (Place of Posting- NIHE, HQs, Almora.) 

 Doctoral Degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, or allied subjects from a recognized University 

 Three year of Research experience in the relevant field. 

 Candidate with prior experience in IUCN Red List indexing of species will be preferred. Candidate should have good publication records, good analytical skills, and prior experience in conservation assessment of species. 

 Knowledge of RS & GIS IUCN Red List indexing of selected endemic and rare species in the Himalaya. Coordination with national and state level agencies/departments related to biodiversity policy. 

HQ0205 Research Associate-II (01 No.) @ Rs 61000/Month + HRA Age - 40 years* (Place of Posting- Division of Forestry Statistics, ICFRE HQ, ICFRE, FRI Campus, Dehradun) 

 Doctoral Degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, or allied subjects from a recognized University 

 One year of Research experience in the relevant field. 

• Experience and Expertise in RS&GIS 

• Evidence of scientific research as paper/dissertation 

Evaluation of field and remote sensing-based Ecosystem Services of various ecosystems following SEEA framework. Extraction of various climatic, edaphic, ecological and social factors and delineation of ecosystems, for modeling through RS&GIS and data analytics and other related work including field data collection. 

HQ0206 Junior Research Fellow (01 No.) @ Rs 37,000/month + HRA with NET/GATE or First Class 

Master's degree in in Ecological Science/ Forestry/Ecological Economics/Botany/Environment Science 

 Knowledge of RS&GIS 

 Highly motivated candidate for pursuing research in geospatial analysis of flora and fauna in the Himalaya. Candidate with keen interest in curation and development biodiversity datasets to study biogeography, evolutionary ecology and conservation prioritization of Himalayan 

 All project related work/ activities of scientific/technical/ official nature/ Field tour 

 Biodiversity data curation from published literature using AI and ML techniques. Field surveys in different regions of the Indian Himalaya to collect data for creation of a Junior Project Fellow biodiversity will be preferred. biodiversity database. 

@Rs 24,000/month + HRA with Non NET/GATE Age -28 years* (Place of Posting- Division of Forestry Statistics, ICFRE HQ, ICFRE, FRI Campus, Dehradun)
