A National Level Walk-in Test and Interview for selection of Project Associate-I purely on contractual basis shall be held on 12.08.2025 at 10:00 AM at leAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode - 673012.

Name of the project "Development of an integrated Deep Learning and molecular tool based expert system for early detection and identification of major insect pests and vector transmitted viruses of spice crops - [BT/PRS3708/AIj133/198/2024 ]"

Essential Qualification: Master's degree in Agricultural Entomology/Zoology with specialization in Entomology.

Desirable Qualification:
CSIR-UGC-NET or GATE qualified
Experience in insect photography, molecular barcoding techniques,
working knowledge in computers

Nature of work The selected candidate will assist the project team in developing a comprehensive image database of insect pests affecting spice crops, including their damage symptoms and those caused by vectortransmitted viruses. The candidate will also support the team in the DNA/RNA barcoding of insect pests and associated viruses. In addition, the candidate is expected to work in close coordination with the collaborating institute to ensure smooth execution of the project objectives and undertake any other project-related tasks  assigned by the PI.

Emoluments Rs. 31,000/month + HRA

Upper Age Limit 35 years as on the date of interview., Candidates born on or after 12.08.1990 may apply. Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India rules.

Duration of Initially for 1 year (on contract basis), which may be extendable up Engagement to 3.years based on the candidate's performance and availability of the project fund.

Mode of The selection will be through a National Level Walk-in Test and recruitment Interview, scheduled to be held at ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research (ICAR-IISR), Kozhikode, on 12 August 2025.
