Position: Research Associate I (RA-I)

Project title: “SARS-CoV-2 spike protein S1 subunit in muscle atrophy and neuromuscular junction program in diabetes and obesity: A molecular approach to understand the neuromuscular complications in COVID-19 in diabetes and obesity”

Salary: - INR 58,000.00 + HRA or as per MoE-STAR guidelines.

Essential Qualifications: PhD in Life Sciences or any branch of Life Sciences / Biotechnology.

Desirable Qualifications: Research experience in the area of molecular biology (cloning and expression), gene expression (RT-PCR and immuno-blotting), cell signaling, animal tissue culture, animal handling and genome editing with at least one publication in peer-reviewed SCI/SCOPUS journals.

Duration: The project is till October 2026. The above-mentioned positions are completely temporary and are co-terminus with the project. However, the fellow can be terminated anytime (immediately) if unsatisfactory progress or any scientific misconduct observed.

Applications are invited for a temporary position of Project Associate-I (ONE Post) in a DBT funded project on developing AI tools/methods with oral cancer data. The details are provided below.

Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / M.VSc. or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable: Candidate MUST have prior experience with image analysis using deep learning. Please don’t APPLY if you don’t have any prior experience with deep learning and/or image analysis.

The candidate should be familiar with, and be passionate about Data Science and Biological Data. It is not required for the candidate to understand Biology or be someone with a background/degree in Biology/Biotechnology/ Life Science/related area but the candidate needs to be analytical minded, and should be willing to work independently and with biological data. The position does not require conducting experiments in the lab.

Consolidated fixed emoluments per month:    (i)    31,000/- + HRA for those who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests - CSlR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
(ii)    25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Duration of appointment: Till 7th Nov 2026 subject to approval of the competent authority and satisfactory progress during the project. The project may get extended further, if approved, at a later date.

Nature of appointment: Temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Preference : B.Tech. and/or Master’s in analytical sciences is preferred with experience with biological data.

Desirable: Candidate should be familiar with, and be passionate about Data Science and Biological Data. It is not required for the candidate to understand Biology or be someone with a background/degree in Biology/Biotechnology/ Life Science/related area but the candidate needs to be analytical minded, and should be willing to work independently and with biological data. Prior experience in using biological data, analytical tools and working with data-related methods and AI tools and framework is a definite plus. The position does not require conducting experiments in the lab.

Consolidated fixed emoluments per month:    20,000/- + HRA as per Govt. rule.

Age Limit:    50 years
