(BSIP-VI) Process and Guidelines for 6 th Biodiversity Samrakshan Internship Programme (BSIP-VI) 

The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) wishes to engage dynamic and creative students, who are willing to learn about biodiversity conservation and natural resource management; support the projects of NBA in various States and Union Territories; and technically assist the State Biodiversity Boards/UT Biodiversity Councils in discharge of their mandates. 

Description of Tasks: 

(i) Assist in the operationalisation and functioning of Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) in the States and Union Territories. 
(ii) Assist BMCs in the preparation of People’s Biodiversity Registers. (PBRs) 
(iii) Assist in the implementation of Biological Diversity (Amendment) Act, 2023. 

Locations 

Interns will be placed in MoEFCC, NBA, State Biodiversity Boards/UT Biodiversity Councils and any other relevant organizations. 

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Postgraduate degree in any discipline. Candidates, with a three-year undergraduate degree, pursuing post graduation may also apply but are required to furnish the course completion certificate or provisional degree by 01-11-2025. 
2. Bachelor's degree (Four-year B. Sc., B.E. & B.Tech. courses in engineering, Agricultural/Forestry/Horticulture/ Veterinary sciences etc.,). 
3. Must be between 21 – 30 years of age. (Born between 30-09-2004 and 01-10-1995). 

No. of Internships 50 

Stipend: ₹ 23,500/month 

Selection Process Applicants must submit an online application. He/She must give an online exam in the month of October 2025 on aspects of Biodiversity Conservation and Natural Resource Management - specifically pertaining to Conventions and protocols related to Biological Diversity, India’s National Reports (NR52 and NR63 ) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, UNFCCC, SDGs 4 and Post 2020 Global Biodiversity Framework5 , India’s Biodiversity, Biological Diversity (Amendment) Act, 2023, Functioning of NBA/SBBs/UTBCs/BMCs, NBSAP 2008 and Addendum 2014 and Mission LiFE. Apart from basics of Biological Sciences like Botany, Zoology, Biodiversity, Environmental Sciences, Life Science, Biochemistry, Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology, Plant Breeding etc. Candidates must visit NBA website www.nbaindia.org periodically for information regarding BSIP.
