Applications are invited from interested candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow and Technical Assistant available in the Department of Molecular Microbiology, School of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai to work in a research grant titled “Exploration of biological sources of Deep Sea for bioactive metabolites to combat Antimicrobial resistance: molecular insights on inhibitory mechanisms against multiple drug resistant bacterial strains” sanctioned by Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), New Delhi. 

1 Name of the Post Junior Research Fellow (JRF) & Technical Assistant (TA) 

2 Number of posts JRF - 02 and TA - 01 

3 Qualification 

Qualification for JRF: M.Sc. (with at least 60% marks) in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Genomic Sciences, Biochemistry. CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/ GATE or Equivalent National Eligibility Test qualification is desirable. 

Qualification for TA: B.Sc in Life Sciences with experience 

4 Fellowship (as per DST norms) 

i) JRF- Rs. 37,000 + HRA/p.m. to the candidates who are qualified through the National Eligibility Test 

ii) JRF- Rs. 25,000 + HRA/p.m. to the non-NET candidates 

iii) Technical Assistant - Rs. 20,000 + HRA/p.m. 

5 Duration 2 years or Co-terminus with the project 6 Selection Process 1) Written test, 2) Personal Interview and 3) Document verification. The engagement is purely on a temporary basis. Dispersal of the fellowship is contingent on the release of the grant from MoES
