Advertisement for Project Staff Positions under the Indian Council of
Medical Research-Centre for Advanced Research (ICMR-CAR) Programme
The Aravind Medical Research Foundation (AMRF), Madurai, is the research arm
of the Aravind Eye Care System. AMRF is committed to advancing scientific
knowledge through cutting-edge basic and translational research in vision science.
Scholars at AMRF can register for Ph.D. under collaborating universities and work
in various fields, including biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biotechnology,
microbiology and bioinformatics.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following temporary
positions under the ICMR-CAR Project titled “Early Detection of Open Angle
Glaucoma in Diabetes Patients with Increasing Age and Family History of
Glaucoma”, funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR),
Government of India, for five years.
Fellowships will be paid in accordance with
ICMR norms and will be available until project completion from the date of joining,
with a 5% increment in emoluments every two years, subject to satisfactory
performance.
Available Positions:
1. Project Research Scientist – II (Non-Medical)
No. of Posts: 2
Minimum Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences/
Biotechnology, including the integrated PG degrees, with three years postqualification Experience or PhD.
Desirable:
Post 1: Experience in cell and molecular biology techniques;
Post 2: Experience in genome informatics and machine learning.
Monthly Emoluments: ₹67,000/- + HRA
2. Project Technical Support – III
No. of Posts: 4
Minimum Essential Qualification: Three-year graduate degree in Life Sciences/
Biotechnology with three years’ post-qualification experience OR Postgraduate
degree in Life Sciences.
Desirable:
Post 1: Experience in Genomics
Post 2: Experience in Proteomics
Post 3: Experience in Cell culture
Post 4: Experience in Bioinformatics/Machine Learning
Monthly Emoluments: ₹28,000/- + HRA
3. Project Technical Support – I
No. of Posts: 1
Minimum Essential Qualification: Three-year graduate degree in Life Sciences
with one year of experience.
Desirable: Experience in handling biological samples and willingness to
undertake field visits.
Monthly Emoluments: ₹18,000/- + HRA.
