Aravind Medical Research Foundation (AMRF), Madurai is a multidisciplinary research
institute, recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by
Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India, which conducts basic
research to gain insights about vision science and commitment to finding new ways to reduce
the burden of blindness.
AMRF is recognized for Ph.D. by Madurai Kamaraj University,
Alagappa University and SASTRA University.
Applications are invited for two different positions from eligible candidates interested in
contributing to medical research on Diabetic Macular Edema at the Aravind Medical Research
Foundation, for a 3-year ICMR-funded project titled “Evaluating the clinical potential of small
extracellular vesicle-derived RBP3 in Diabetic Macular Edema: Inflammation modulation and
Anti-VEGF response prediction.”
Position 1: Project Technical Support III (N=1)
Required Qualification: Three-year graduate degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with
three years’ post-qualification experience OR Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences.
Desired qualification: M.Sc. candidates who have qualified GATE, NET/equivalent national
level examinations and have 2 yrs of research experience in molecular-cell biology
laboratory. Candidate should be willing to pursue a Ph.D. degree.
Job description: The work involves planning experiments, performing flow cytometry–based
ELISA assays on human patient samples, conducting cell culture experiments, biochemical
assays, analyzing experimental data, preparing scientific manuscript, and presenting
research findings at national conferences.
Fellowship amount: Rs. 28,000 + 20% HRA
Position 2: Project Technical Support II (N=1)
Required Qualification: 12th in Science (+) Diploma (MLT/DMLT/Engineering) + Five Years
Experience in relevant subject / field OR Three-year graduate degree in Life Sciences
Desired qualification: Fresh M.Sc. graduate with a strong interest in scientific research and
intention to pursue a Ph.D. Having hands-on laboratory experience will be preferred.
Job description: The work involves patient sample collection, systematic record keeping of
sample information, and conducting cell culture experiments.
Fellowship amount: Rs. 20,000 + 20% HRA
