Applications from Indian nationals are invited for the unreserved temporary posts of Research Associate (1)
and Senior Research Fellow (4) to contribute to cutting-edge research in Genome editing and advancing
climate-resilient agriculture under ICAR-funded EFC project at Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR-Indian
Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
Project: ICAR-EFC project “Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing
tools” (Project Code: 12-197-A, 12-197-C, 12-197-D and 12-197-E)

After screening the applications, only shortlisted candidates shall be called for online interview to be held in
the first week of December 2025. Any change in the Interview date will be intimated to the shortlisted
candidates or placed in IARI website. The positions are unreserved, temporary and co-terminus with the
project. The institution reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies.
Research
Associate
(RA)

Emoluments: 61,000 +

Essential Qualification: Doctoral degree: Ph.D. in
Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant
Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany/
any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable
experience. OR Master’s degree: Master's degree in
Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/Plant
Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany/
any relevant discipline of life science with desirable
experience with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree
having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent
overall grade point average, with at least three years
of research experience as evidenced from
Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other
engagements as circulated vide F. No. 2-9/2012-
HRD dated 25.04.2014 and one research paper in
Science Citation Index (SCI)/ NAAS rated (≥4.0)
Journal as per OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated
30.01.2019 (*Relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST (5
years), OBC (3 years), PwD (10 years) and other eligible
categories shall be applicable as per GoI/ ICAR rules.)
Desirable Qualification: Proficient in basic
molecular techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR,
plasmid isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular
marker etc), molecular cloning and recombinant
vector development, genetic transformation of crops
(rice, millets etc), development and analysis of
Transgenic plants, genome editing of plants, plant
tissue culture, scientific writing; as evident from
publications.

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in
relevant subjects (Plant Biotechnology/ Plant
Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/Life sciences/
Microbiology) with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s
degree (1st Division). Candidates having graduate
degree in basic Sciences with 3 years of
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree
should have NET/GATE/ICAR-SRF (PhD
entrance) qualification and 2 years of research
experience. Candidates having B. Tech with M.
Tech 5 year (degree must have it mentioned as B.
Tech and M. Tech) as mentioned in OM No
Edn./6/27/2014/HRDdated13thJuly,2015,OMNo
Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 2015 of
the Council and OM SR/S9/Z09/2018 of DST
dated, 30th January 2019.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in basic
plant physiology, biochemistry and molecular
techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, plasmid
isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular marker
etc), molecular cloning and recombinant vector
development, genetic transformation of crops
(rice, mustard, millets, etc), particle gun mediated
transformation of plants, plant tissue culture,
development and analysis of transgenic plants.
