Applications areinvited for the post of ONE Guest Faculty to teach M.Sc.(Microbial Biotechnology) classes during odd semester of the academic year 2025-2026 in the Department of Microbial Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The candidates should also submit the hard copy of the same by the due date to the office of the Chairperson, Department of Microbial Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. 

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Microbial Biotechnology or allied subject with atleast 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled/Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-creamy Layer)/ Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991. 

Desirable qualification: 

 Ph.D.in Microbiology/Biotechnology or allied fields. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a PhD Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission. Provided further,candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:- 

a) Ph.D.degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only. 
b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by atleast two external examiners. 
c) Anopen Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted. 
d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D.work out of which atleast one must be in a refereed journal. 
e) Candidate has made atleast two presentations in conference/seminars,basedonhis/herPh.D.work. (a)to(e)as above are to be certified by the Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs). 

The above assignment will be on lecture basis with a token honorarium of Rs.1500/- per lecture with an upper limit of Rs.50000/-per month. 

The candidate will have to give an undertaking that he/she will not draw any fellowship / stipend or any financial assistance from any agency till they are teaching in the Department of Microbial Biotechnology, Panjab University South Campus, Sector-25, Chandigarh as a Guest Faculty.

The candidates who are already availing JRF scholarships in the University are not entitled for the honorarium but they will be issued experience certificate for the Guest Faculty. The candidates are required to submit a No objection certificate from the present employer along with their application. The interview for the post will be held in the office of the Chairperson, Department of Microbial Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The date and time of the interview will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates by e-mail. The applicants are advised to bring their original certificates and other relevant documents for verification at the time of interview. 

Note: No TA/DA will bepaid for attending the interview.
