Applications are invited for one (01) Senior Research Assistant (SRA) position in the UPCST sponsored research project titled “DNA barcoding of metazoan parasites infecting clown knifefish Chitala chitala (Hamilton, 1822), the state fish of Uttar Pradesh, India". The project is funded by the Council of Science & Technology (CST), Uttar Pradesh (Ref. No. CST/D/Biotech-1298 dated 25.08.2025) and awarded to Dr. Amit Tripathi, Department of Zoology, University of Lucknow. 

Essential qualification: 

1. M. Sc. (or equivalent) in a discipline relevant to the research project with 
2. Two years of research experience as evident from published papers. 3. Resident of Uttar Pradesh 

Desirable qualification: 

1. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated experience in DNA/RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, PCR and handling of parasites/microorganisms 

Age limit Upper age limit: 32 years as on 1st April 2025 

Emoluments ₹25,000/month (first two years) and ₹28,000/month (third year). 

Tenure Three years from the project start date, subject to satisfactory performance; coterminous with the project.
