BHU Pathogen Biochemsitry Project Opening

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Assistant/(JRA) in a research project entitled "Comprehensive sero-profiling post Ivermectin, Diethylcarbamazine and Albendazole (IDA) administration: Designing endpoints for Lymphatic Filariasis elimination" (BHU Code No.: P-26/0156) funded by Council of Science and Technology, Uttar Pradesh (CSTUP), Project ID: 4102). The selected candidate will join and work in PI’s Laboratory at the Department of Biochemistry, BHU.  The candidate should be a resident of U.P. and should attach a valid U.P. Domicile certificate with the form. The duly completed applications in the prescribed format (Annexure-1) along with copies of the supporting documents must reach to the Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Anchal Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005. The application containing envelope should be superscribed as "Application for the post of JRA for the CSTUP project".

Last Date of application: Within 12-12-2025 from the date of this advertisement  

Age Limit: 28 years or less on the date of appointment (age relaxation as per Gol rules for reserved category candidates) 

Fellowship/monthly compensation: Rs 25000/ month (consolidated). 

Essential qualification for junior research assistant 

i. The candidate should hold any of the following degree: M.Sc. Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Molecular and Human Genetics/Life science. Bachelor Engg./Technology (B.E./B.Tech.) or equivalent degree with high academic attainment with 1st class in Graduate and Post Graduate examinations. Candidates with higher qualification may also apply. 
ii. Candidate should be a Uttar Pradesh resident.   

Desirable Skills: Experience of having worked with Pathogens, molecular biology techniques Proteomics, Genomics, and willing to do a Full-time PhD. 

Notes: 

1. The applicant preferably should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh, India. 
2. Mere possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate will be called for an interview. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit and need of the project. 
3. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by e-mail about the interview schedule. So, the candidates must provide a valid e-mail address in their applications.  
4. Shortlisted candidates should come physically for the interview on the interview date with an updated CV along with original and self-attested photocopies of mark sheets/certificates in support of their academic qualifications. Online mode of interview can be also considered on proper justification.  
5. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of the information, other documents, and photographs submitted.  
6. Candidates with desirable experiences and valid NET/GATE certificates may be given preferences.  
7. Qualifications and experiences may be relaxed for the exceptional candidates. 
8. The university reserves the right to accept/reject the application at any time during the entire tenure of the project.  
9. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.  
10. The association between the Pl and the candidate can be discontinued at any time by giving one month's notice in writing either by the PI of the project to the candidate, or by the candidate to the PI of the project.  
11. The appointment will be purely temporary on contract basis. The initial appointment will be for one year and may extended until the duration of the project (maximum upto 3 years) based on the performance of the candidate.
