Applications are invited for appointment under the following IBAB funded Interdisciplinary Research Project (IRP) scheme. All positions are full-time and appointment shall be made on contractual basis renewable yearly or up to the duration of the project, whichever is earlier.

Essential Qualifications & Desired Skills:

PA 

The selected candidate will analyze the DENV genome, establish CRISPR–Cas13–based assays in Aedes cell lines, and perform virus challenge assays. 

A) 4-year Bachelor’s or 2-year Master’s degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biological Sciences or related subjects with at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a UGC recognized university/ institution. 
B) Experience in Molecular Biology and cell biology techniques. 

A) Knowledge of basic programming skills and bioinformatics tools. 
B) Research experience in the relevant field. 
C) Experience of working in cell culture facility. 
D) Ability to maintain accurate lab records and data analyses, team player and willingness to learn. 

2 IRP-2025-8 

PA 

The candidate will be working on development of Deep Learning models towards prediction of gRNA in cyanobacterial chassis, and performing related computational work. 

A) B.Tech or B.E in IT/ Computer science/Electrical Engineering or Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in IT/ Computer science/Computer Application/Physics/Mathema tics with at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a UGC recognized university/ institution. 
B) Proficient in Python 

A) Basic knowledge of ML. 
B) Inclination towards problem solving in Biology.

3 IRP-2025-3 

PA 

The candidate will work on developing foundation models for investigating genomic signatures of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and cooccurring Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). 

A) A bachelor or master level degree in any subject with a CGPA of 6.5 or above from a recognized university. 
B) Genuinely passionate about studying genomics and Autism. C) Strong programming and analytical thinking abilities

A) Experience in building machine and deep learning models. 
B) Experience in NGS data analysis by programming.

4 IRP-2025-12 

PDF or PA 

The candidate will be creating scripts, webinterfaces and visualization features as part of a software being developed. In addition, the candidate will perform sequence and structure-based analysis of DNA or protein-DNA interactions. 

PDF: A) PhD with thesis submitted or awarded in 2023 or later, with extensive computational and programming work. 

PA: B) B.Tech or B.E. in IT/ Computer science/ Electrical Engineering or Master’s degree (MSc OR equivalent) in IT/ Computer science/ Computer Application/ Bioinformatics at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university, and a minimum of 6 months of certified programming work (project or internship work or other) experience. 

Candidates with similar bachelors and master’s degree qualifications in other life sciences subjects will be eligible if, 
a) bioinformatics was the major subject for at least one year of their studies, and 
b) they have a minimum of one year of certified programming work experience. 

C) Proficiency in Python. Experience and knowledge in computational structural biology and genomics.

Emoluments: Consolidated Rs 30,000/- p.m. for Project Assistant, Rs 60,000/- p.m. for Postdoctoral Fellow. 

The selected candidate may be provided accommodation in IBAB hostel based on availability.
