Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the post of Project Assistant (PA) in the Department of Science & Technology (DST)-Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India sponsored Research Project under the Empowerment and Equity Opportunities for Excellence in Science (EMEQ) Scheme (File No. EEQ/2023/000466). 

The details ofthe project and the position are as under: 

Title of the Project In-situ biodegradation of pesticide (fipronil) using stable-isotope probing (SIP) 

Principal Investigator Dr. Ngangbam Sarat Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj -211002, U.P. India. E-mail: sarat4sarat@gmail.com, drngssingh@allduniv.ac.in 

Duration One year (extendable up to the project period, subject to satisfactory performance) 

Essential Qualifications B.Sc./3 years Diploma in Engineering and Technology This position offers the possibility of Ph.D. registration. 

Desirable Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with M.Sc. in Zoology/Life Science/Agricultural Zoology and allied subjects aspiring to pursue doctoral research. 

Fellowship Rs. 20,000/-+HRA Below 

Age Limit 50 years

1. Application typed/filled in the attached application format along with a brief CV and selfattested copies of all mark-sheets and certificates with details of any publication, research or other experience etc. (if any) should reach the office of the PI i.e. Dr. Ngangbam Sarat Singh, Assistant Professor & Principal Investigator, Department of Zoology, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj - 211002, U.P., India. 

2. The envelope containing the application, must be marked with 'Application for the post of Project Assistant position in DST-SERB project' written clearly on its top. 

3. A soft copy of the application along with all documents must also be sent via e-mail at sarat4sarat@gmail.com or drngssingh@allduniv.ac.in, along with the subject line 'Project Assistant position for DST-SERB project'. 

4. Last date for receipt of Application is 22 January, 2026 

5. Short listed candidates (based on merit and project requirements) will be informed via e-mail about interview details after the last date of application. No separate interview call letters will be dispatched. 

6. The post is purely temporary in nature subjected to availability/release of the fund and research progress. The post is co-terminus with the project. 

8. Possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee an invitation to the interview. The selection committee reserves the right to accept or reject the candidature without assigning any reason. No further claim will be entertained after the final selection of the candidate (JRF). The PI/selection committee also reserves its right to not fill the position if no suitable candidate is found.
