Project Title:
Enhancing TB Treatment with Immunomodulatory Drug Repurposing: A Novel Strategy to
Combat Drug Resistance and Shorten Treatment

1. Project Research Scientist I-1 Position
2. Project Technical Support I - 1 Position
Project Duration:
Initially for 1 year, extendable based on performance and project requirements. The project is
sanctioned till March 2029.
Research Focus:
This project aims to develop innovative therapeutic strategies against Tuberculosis (TB) by
repurposing immunomodulatory drugs to combat drug resistance and reduce treatment
duration.
Candidates will gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge Immunology research,
including:
Host-pathogen interaction studies
Immune response profiling
Molecular and cellular immunology techniques
Transcriptomics studies
Mouse model experiments for TB infection and therapeutic evaluation
Drug efficacy testing and translational biomedical research
Eligibility:
For Project Research Scientist I candidates with strong academic background, PhD in Life
Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related fields with at
least 1 high impact original publication (Research Article) are encouraged to apply.
Experience in animal handling, mouse infection models, cell culture, Immunological
techniques (like FACS, Bio-Plex, T cell co-culture, confocal etc), molccular biology (qR1-
PCR, trausriptomics) and Bio energetics, and with basic knowledge of silico work will be
preferred.
For Project Technical Support I candidates with strong academic background, BSc in Life
Sciences, Microbiology, Immunology or allied sciences with working experiences in FACS,
Cell culture, Bioplex, T cell co-culture etc.
