The BRIC-National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (BRIC-NIBMG) is the first Institution
in India explicitly devoted to research, training, translation, service and capacity building
in biomedical genomics.

Essential Qualification
(i) Ph.D. in any branch of Life Science/Statistical Science/
Computational Science/Genetic Epidemiological Science of relevance
in Biomedical Genomics OR M.D or M.D./M.Tech.
(ii) The candidate must have 10 years of Post-Doctoral research
experience (Research experience might be relaxed by 02 years for
highly meritorious candidates and track record of high-quality
scientific publications)
Desirable Qualification
Should have capability to conduct research independently in Cancer
Biology or Host-Pathogen Interaction or Complex disorders or Statistical
Genomics or Neuro Development and Neurogenomics. Any combination
of the above areas will be an added advantage.
Applicants must show that
they have used Genomics and Data analysis as essential tools in their
immediate past research.
The candidate should have documented expertise
and publications in any of the following:
Genome editing using human cells
or zebrafish/mice, Single cell/spatial genomics or imaging/microscopic
techniques, drug screening, usage of pathogenic microorganisms grown in
BSL-3. Candidates whose research program shows capability of doing team
science, basic research, translational science leading to patent and potential
commercialisation will be preferred. Due weightage will be given to past
evidence in that respect.
Job description
The appointed Assistant Professor will be responsible for running his/her
research laboratory to the highest international standards, do teaching of
PhD and integrated PhD students, carry out some number of administrative
duties. The Institute provides generous but performance linked intramural
funding comparable to any other Institutes in India. However, the
candidates have to apply for competitive extramural funds (both in India
and abroad) as intramural funding is not guaranteed. He/she shall assist
the Director / Associate Director in such matters as may be determined by
the Director from time to time and shall also exercise such powers and
perform duties as may be assigned by the Director / Associate Director.
