VACANCY NOTIFICATION 

Project : Expansion of INSACOG–Wastewater Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2, Emerging Pathogens, and Antimicrobial Resistance through Genomics-Based Methods 

PI : Dr. Bhabatosh Das 

1. Project Associate-I/ II 

35 years 

Date for walk-in interview 4th August 2026 
For PA-I - B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university. 
For PA-II - B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university, with at least two (2) years of postqualification research experience in Microbiology. 

Candidates should have a strong background in multi-omics, or microbiology, or environmental biology with demonstrated hands-on experience in microbial culture and/or the collection and processing of environmental samples. 

i) Rs. 35,000/- +HRA (or Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA for PA-I) - Scholars who are selected through: 
(a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR – UGC NET including lectureship or GATE or 
(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Department and their agencies and institutions) 
ii) Rs. 28,000/- + HRA or Rs. 25,000/- plus HRA for PA-I) for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Project : Understanding gastrointestinal tract microbiome of neonates with or without sepsis (under Neo-sepsis program)

2. Senior Project Associate 

Date for walk-in interview4 th August 2026 

B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech degree of Life Sciences from a recognized university, with atleast four (4) years’ of post-qualification experience in Microbiology. 

• Candidates should have a strong background in bioinformatics and hands-on experience in 16S metagenomics, transcriptomics, or whole-genome sequencing analysis. 
• The candidate should be familiar with the bioinformatics pipeline to analyse the sequence data. 

Rs. 42,000/- plus HRA 

3. Project Associate-I/ II 

Date for walk-in interview 4th August 2026

For PA-I - B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university. 
For PA-II - B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university, with at least two (2) years of postqualification research experience in Microbiology. 

Candidates should have a strong background in multi-omics, or microbiology, or environmental biology with demonstrated hands-on experience in microbial culture and/or the collection and processing of environmental samples.

4. Senior Project Associate 

Date for walk-in interview 7th August 2026

B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university, with atleast four (4) years’ of postqualification experience in the relevant field.

Experience in molecular biology, microbiology and biochemistry techniques. have experience in handling animals.

Candidates should also Rs. 42,000/- plus HRA

5. Principal Project Associate

Date for walk-in interview7 th August 2026 

B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university, with atleast eight (8) years’ of postqualification experience in relevant field. OR 
Ph.D. degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university, with atleast four (4) years’ of post-qualification experience in relevant field. 

Desirable: The candidate having atleast one first-author paper in a peer reviewed indexed journal will be preferred. Experience working in BSL3 laboratories, handling of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, FACS experiments, and animal studies.

Project : Placenta Health Project - Adaptive Dose Finding Platform in India 

PI : Dr. Nitya Wadhwa 

6. Project Associate-I 

Date for walk-in interview5 th August 2026 

B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech. degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university. 

Desirable: Prior experience in microscopy, molecular biology techniques and working with cell culture would be preferred 

• Cell Culture: Manage and optimize cell culture systems, including the culture of placental cells, trophoblasts, and secondary cell lines. 
• Perform cellular assays: Develop and maintain invitro models to study the role of placental function, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the assays. 
• Imaging and Analysis: Perform advanced imaging confocal microscopy and immuno-histochemistry on placental tissues. 
• Molecular Biology: Conduct molecular analyses, including gene expression studies using PCR, and protein assays

Rs. 25,000/- plus HRA
