THSTI Molecular Biology/Microbiology Project Openings


RECRUITMENT NOTICE NO.: THS/RN/14/2026 Dated: 27th July 2026 

1. BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute conducts innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health. 

BRIC-THSTI has built several inter-institutional collaborations and connectivity with industry supported by well-trained teams of research and laboratory staff. THSTI has established various centres namely (a) Centre for Maternal and Child Health, (b) Centre for Virus Research, Therapeutics and Vaccines (c) Centre for Tuberculosis Research (d) Centre for Microbial Research, (e) Centre for Immunobiology and Immunotherapy (f) Centre for Drug Discovery (g) Clinical Development Services Agency (h) Computational and Mathematical Biology Centre (i) Centre for Bio-design and Diagnostics. These centres are strengthened by many core facilities viz. Bioassay Laboratory, Biorepository, Biosafety Level-3 Lab, Multi-Omics facility, Experimental Animal Facility, Vaccine design and Development facility, Medical Research Centre, Translational Research Facility etc. that serve as huge resources for the research programmes of THSTI and also the National Capital Region Biotech Science Cluster and other academic and industrial partners. BRIC-THSTI trains the next generation of scientific leaders through many ambitious and globally competitive academic courses which promotes research and innovation through multi-disciplinary academia-industry partnerships. 

3. This recruitment is to fill up the vacancies of BRIC-THSTI under the following projects:

Project: Lead optimization of sulfone, efloxate and adamantyl urea derivatives against drug-resistant M.Tuberculosis 

PI : Dr. Ramandeep Singh 

4. Project Technical Support-III 

Rs. 28,000/- plus HRA 

Three-year graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university, with three (3) years of experience in a research laboratory. OR 
Post-Graduation in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university. 
Experience in molecular biology, microbiology and biochemistry techniques.

Project: BRAIN-TB: Bacterial Regulators that Aid TB infection in CNS-Targeted deletion and CRISPRi approaches

6. Project Research Scientist-II 

Rs. 67,000/- plus HRA 

40 years 

Date of walk-in interview: 13 th August 2026 

Ph.D. in Life Sciences in the area of tuberculosis (TB) from a recognized university with at least one (1) research article in a peer-reviewed PubMed-indexed Journal. 

Candidates must have the documentary evidence of the following working experience: 

• Competency to work in BSL-3 Facility: Experience certificate for safely operating inside a BSL-3 containment facility. 
• Mycobacterial handling: Demonstrated proficiency in M. tuberculosis culturing, generation of recombinant strains, culturing and maintenance of mycobacteria in BSL3 containment facility. 
• Animal infection with the TB pathogen: Hands-on experience with mouse or any other animal model of infection, specifically pertaining to tuberculosis (TB) in the BSL3 containment facility. 

1. Immunological & Analytical Techniques (Technical Skills)
 • Flow Cytometry: Practical expertise in operating Flow Cytometry (FACS) equipment, including sample preparation, staining, and data acquisition/analysis. 
• ELISA: Experience in setting up and analysing Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA) for cytokine or antibody profiling. 
• Cell Culture Systems: Competency in primary mammalian cell culture or cell line maintenance used for hostpathogen interaction studies. 2.Molecular Biology Proficiency
• Cloning, Expression and Purification of Proteins: Hands-on experience with regular PCRs, gene cloning expression and purification of recombinant proteins. 
• Biochemical Assay: Experience with various biochemical assays such as enzyme kinetics, CD spectroscopy, protein-protein and protein-drug interaction etc. 
• Gene Expression Analysis: Hands-on experience with RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, and running Real-Time Quantitative Reverse Transcription PCR (RTPCR).
